Mexican Tilapia

I took Black Friday off and went to the beach where I had this monstrosity.
I am still on my quest to healthier eating. I just learned about Omega-3 acids (a special kind of unsaturated fat) and it’s health benefits. It’s mainly found in fish. When I saw this guy on the menu, I decided it’s just what I was looking for.
Finally a few days off from the office.

Beef Stroganoff

Stroganoff and Vodka are the most outstanding Russian culinary achievements. Vodka is not allowed at my workplace (Yes I know it should be allowed), but Stroganoff is. Both contribute to a fatty liver though.
It tasted really good. The veggies are alibi food for healthy people I guess.

Food stuff

Rice with Lentils tastes great and is much healthier than just rice. I congratulate my cafeteria guys on a great invention. From now on that will be how I eat rice. The Mrs won’t mind either since I am the food lover and she mainly eats to survive.
I am now mostly forcing my cafeteria guys to customize for me. They take it well.

Rotisserie Chicken

I can see my bad holesterols running for the exit already being kicked by the new bouncer (unsaturated fats) transforming my body into an exclusiv club. We don’t want to serve their kinds here anymore.
Tasteful, healthy and appealing are a rare combination for my cafeteria.
Chicken, natural rice and a garden salad almost make up for yesterday’s tasty but unhealthy chow.
Let’s support the bouncers!

Roast Beef and Starch

Sometimes you cannot find healthy food for lunch in the cafeteria. Today was just one of those days the doctor warns you about. Pumping my body with saturated fats and glucose level boosting starch all at once never felt so good. It is not that I don’t appreciate the cafeteria, but how can food professionals not know what is healthy and what isn’t. It’s like cops not knowing the road signs or blind pilots flying jumbo jets.

Odd mix

Who in their right mind mixes mac and cheese with chilli beans and pork? The cafeteria does. This was one of the most disgusting lunches I have had in a long time. Full of saturated fats and sodium, I decided to get a side order of dolma and olives for better taste. This combination of side orders leads me to believe, that we were fed leftovers today.

Corned beef

Corned beef is tradionally served on St. Patricks day. It is cured and thus high in sodium. What my blood pressure doesn’t appreciate, my tastebudds do. Corned beef with cabbage, carrots and potatoes is as tasty as it is odd. Beats sandwiches a million to one.

Beef Merengo

Beef Merengo is a beef stew with wine sauce. The wine adds a delightful slightly sour taste, greatly enhancing the beef flavor. As far as cafeteria food goes, this was one of the better days. Too many onions and fatty beef beef balanced the otherwise great food to become slightly above average chow.

Chicken Parmesan

Roasted Veggies acompanied the Chicken Parmesan and pasta. Although the food tasted good, it doesn’t fit my new standards of healthy eating anymore. The worse choice would have been roast beef on white bread (highly refined starch) and fries (trans fat and starch). I made the right choice between two evils.

Stuffed Chicken

Average food for average people was our cafeterias credo today or so it seems. That’s fine with me, as I am planning to deliver average work today. I can’t always be exceptianal either.
Friday evening is coming closer while I am trying to avoid starting a big project today.
