Noodles and Pot Roast

Although strange, my food was better than my friends food who tried the turkey meatloaf. It tasted even stranger than it sounds.
By comparison my noodles were just tasteless. I guess there are worse things in life. The good times are long gone and while I am crossing the threshold of age where I have to watch what I am eating (been crossing for the past 10 years), taste becomes less of an issue.
Happy Halloween! Eat less candy and don’t come knocking on my door, I only have health food.

Mexican Chicken Barf

I forgot how today’s dish was called, but the green color suggests what it should have been called. It didn’t taste as bad as it looked, but I suppose everything can taste ok drowned in some sauce. The barfy looking chicken dish really didn’t spoil my appetite, but some of my collegues preferred something more traditional (sandwich). Chickenshits!

Bi-Bim-Bap

Bi-Bim-Bap is a Korean mixed rice dish with everything but the kitchen sink in it. Sometimes our cafeteria gets it just right, sometimes it doesn’t. Maybe it depends on the leftovers or on the specials at costco. Today it had way too much cabbage in it. I am expecting the hallways smell like fart later today. I can already hear the trumpets going off like random mines in some cubicles. Makes me feel like I am part of one giant game of battleship. I am aiming for the Admirals cube now, that should take em down for good.

Spaghetti Bolognese

This is the biggest slice of garlic bread I ever had. I started to wolf down the entire meal when I reminded myself to eat slower and even leave something over. Although I am still not losing weight, I will get there soon.
The food wasn’t bad.

Pork Cutlets

Chopped pork cutlets with white rice and cole slaw were on today’s menu. It’s a typical meal for my cafeteria. Tasteless but I got it down. Way to waste cutlets. Could have chewed on the dry wall instead.

Orange glazed pork chops

Orange glazed pork chops taste like pork chops from a candy store. They came with white rice and carrots. Overall these kind of pork chops are dry and tough like Dr Scholls.

Comfort food

People south of the border have a good understanding of the simple pleasures of life. Fortunately we are rich with Hispanic influence here in … I love Enchiladas with sour cream. It’s a cheap, delicious and convenient food.
Even the cafeteria can cook them to perfection.

Tri Tip

How do you call cheap roasted beef? Tri Tip
Thrown together with mashed potatoes, garlic bread and salad it provides a cheap cafeteria meal that’s not great but edible. I think I need to thank them for making my below average cooking skills seam really good.

Some sort of Mongolian cow

This old chewy cow meat was on today’s menu, cleverly disguised as Mongolian beef. I know the Mongols life a harsh nomadic life and their digestive systems are used to all sorts of abuse, but I didn’t just come out of a yurt, I came from a cubicle. My stomach is slightly more sensitive.

Chicken on Salad

I had salad with chicken again. At least this time I took some Clam Chowder with it. I feel full now.
