Snails

Today I didn’t eat in the cafeteria. Instead I got snails from Chinatown. I never had snails before, but I got curious when I was on a little trip today, so I decided to skip cafeteria hell in favor of Chinatown snails.

I had expected worse, but if you don’t think about that you are actually eating the entire thing, entrails and whatever else there is, its edible. Snails pretty much taste like clams. Whatever sauce you put them in, thats how they taste. The texture is about the same.

It wasn’t bad, but it took forever to fish the tiny snails from their shells with the elongated toothpicks that came with the meal. Kind of hard if you are really hungry.

Stuffed Chicken Breast

Sometimes I surprise myself. The actually enjoyed weirdly stuffed chicken (the things inside were unidentifiable). But why did the decide to sprinkle tofu cube sauce on the rice? The meal would have been perfectly good without it. I think my company secretly wants to condition (gene therapy?) us. I just haven’t figured out to what extend … hail my company …. (oops, sorry folks).

Enchiladas

The Enchiladas (thats what they say it was) tasted pretty much like the red sauce that was on top if it. The Nachos were actually SunChips (whole grain). The rice was as tasteless as the rest (actually it didn’t taste like anything at all).

My theory is quite simple. The taste feairy came and stole all the taste out of our pitty little cafeteria. Lets just hope the b**ch doesn’t come back tomorrow. Someone leave a damn coin for her.

Chicken Sandwich

Chicken Sandwich with Cheese and curly fries. It could have been excellent food, if it werent for the fact that the Chicken wasn’t cooked thoroughly. It was quite smelly too. 5 more minutes on the barbie would have made it quite good.

Cabbage Rolls

Weird food, thats what I call this. Cabbage rolls with mystery meat inside and a leftover italian sauce on it. With that came a french roll, salad and a piece of melon. It seems to me like this was either leftovers of past weeks or dumpster food.

Spicy Thai Noodles

Spicy Thai noodles today.
Somehow I forgot how spicy Thai food can be. I dread the moment in two days when this food will burn again. The watermelon was not enough relief.

Chicken Cordon Bleu

I still cannot believe it, but today’s cafeteria dish was actually good. We had Chicken Cordon Bleu. That is Chicken stuffed with ham and cheese, breaded and pan fried (or baked). Best of all, it came with POTATOES, which are a rare oddity in my cafeteria.

Bul-Go-Ki

Bul-go-ki is a Korean dish of rice, old cow and fiery hot cabbage, mashed together in a bowl. It’s not bad, except for the heartburn it gave me and for the fatty contents. I think the cow was the same old retired milk cow I had last week.

Squid

Today I had squid (calamari). Once again a food that came with rice. It must have been 6 weeks since I saw something resembling a potato in our kitchen. I think it came in the form of mashed potatos, but it is too long for me to recall. I always get hungry in the late afternoon when I had rice. I guess rice is cheaper.
EDIT: I just realized that I had mashed potatoes with my meatloaf a few days ago. I forgot because it rarely happens and because I am an idiot.

Fajitas

Fajitas mexicanas are fart food. Beans, Onions and Salsa all cause gas. And since there are people who cannot hold it in (I think they simply refuse to), meetings should be a lot of fun today … … hold it, hold it … … aj caramba there we go.
The beef tasted as if they hurried to kill the cow before it died of old age. Mercyful but not tasteful.
